Sumitomo Electric Carbide launches new ceramic grades for rough turning and milling of cast iron

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Inc.’s new ceramic grades emphasize a dynamic balance between wear resistance and toughness in rough turning and milling of cast iron.

Developed using a patented microwave sintering process, the SN2000K and SN2100K excel in machining a broad range of cast iron materials.

The new SN2000K grade is excellent for high speed general turning and finishing applications in cast iron. This grade promotes long tool life and exceptional wear resistance through its hardness and increased toughness.

With its high shock and impact resistance, the SN2100K is perfect for rough turning and milling of gray cast iron applications. The SN2100K is ideal when extraordinary toughness is required.
