Fives Cincinnati hires new president

Steve Thiry has been named president of Fives Cincinnati and its Global Services division, Hebron, Ky. Thiry, who has more than 30 years of international and domestic manufacturing experience, most recently served as CEO of Fives Landis in the U.K.
“Fives’ brand defines who we are and at the same time captures our ambition for the years to come,” said Jean-Camille Uring, chairman of Fives Machining Systems. “Steve Thiry has distinguished himself in manufacturing and is uniquely qualified to represent the Fives brand and lead us into the future.”
Before joining Fives, Thiry served as director of business development at The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). In that capacity he provided management consulting to U.S. manufacturers seeking to expand into international markets. He established member support services in eastern Europe and India and expanded existing services in China.
He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College and received his master’s degree in business from Rutgers University.
