CAM software updated with new features

Geometric Americas Inc. has released CAMWorks® 2017 software with additions to support smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
The tolerance based machining (TBM) feature uses tolerances and nongeometric data in a 3-D CAD model to select optimal machining strategies and create toolpaths automatically. The VoluMill™ milling adviser provides recommended feed and speed parameters for high-speed machining.
The chuck and fixture definition feature allows chucks and fixtures to be designed using SolidWorks parts and assemblies or STL files to be used for toolpath simulation and collision detection in mill/turn and turning. The chucks and fixtures can be moved or rotated in X, Y, and Z directions with respect to the fixture coordinate system of the current part to help ensure that the chuck or fixture is properly aligned with the current part.
