Tungaloy Corp. has expanded the BallFinishNose series of indexable end mills for machining high-precision die and mould and aerospace components.
The asymmetric insert shape secures rigid clamping and prevents dislocation under the extreme operating conditions, providing excellent surface finish and stable, long tool life, the company states. This expansion includes new tool diameters of 8, 10, 25, 30, and 32 mm, greatly expanding its application area.
The shanks are available in steel, carbide, and modular type, allowing greater flexibility and opportunity for different applications. The insert has a coolant channel on the surface that delivers coolant to the cutting edge, allowing smooth chip evacuation and longer tool life.
The insert grades for the series are AH725 for various materials, including steel and stainless steel; and AH710 for hardened steel and cast iron.
