At IMTS 2016, Walter will exhibit the M4000 program, which uses a new insert system that has a single, basic shape, making it compatible with every M4000 body. The inserts can be used in all tools within this line. Standard cutter styles include high-feed, end, chamfer, T-slot, and helical mills.
The company’s Turn Precision coolant also will be featured. This targeted coolant delivery system produces a direct coolant supply through the insert clamp and along the flank face of the insert.
To work with the coolant turning tools, the RM5 roughing geometry for stainless steels comes with coolant channels to target delivery of coolant under the chip and as close as possible to the cutting edge.
In grooving, new coolant tools include the G2042 parting blades in both standard and reinforced-shank versions; G1011 grooving holders with coolant supply to both the rake and flank faces of the insert; and G1511 shallow grooving holders.
