TDM Systems Tool Crib Module

This module helps reduce machine downtime.

The TDM Tool Crib Module from TDM Systems organizes tools and production resources including those tools that are located off-site.

The TDM Tool Crib Module can map each physical crib and adapt itself to the user. At the same time, it integrates easily in terms of Tool Lifecycle Management into higher level systems. The Module is flexible to handle various crib systems including vending machines whose usage has increased in recent years as well as with vertical lift systems which affords the user the advantage of utilizing floor space in an ideal manner. In each instance planning is required so that all know where the tools are located.

The TDM Tool Crib Module maps all of the upstream and downstream processes of a tool crib. TDM itself forms the connection between the systems (ERP and MES) and supports them with information about the actual status of the production resources while the Module records the status and location for each tool whether it be new, used, or in need of repair. Also clarified is whether an item is being ordered, has been partially delivered, or has been delivered.

Tool assemblies can be dismantled and placed in storage for future use and the Module supports this process by providing the necessary instructions automatically.

The TDM Tool Crib Module can summarize the status of up to eight tools under one identification number, make resource-oriented planning possible and eliminate bottleneck situations or even machine downtimes due to lack of tools.

Crib Management is an important basic function in the overall Tool Lifecycle Management process. Gathering the tool and production resource and providing information on status forms a solid basis for planning tools, orders, and machine utilization.
