Vaughan, Ont.-based fabricating machinery distributor and service provider Access Machinery has announced that it will be representing Spanish machine builder Tecoi. Founded in 1995, Tecoi originally made its name making plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment for shipyards and other heavy fabricating applications. It has since expanded its reach into large-format laser cutting, as well as machining applications for plate products.

“For us, this relationship is extremely important because we really need boots on the ground,” said Gorka Eguiguren, sales manager for Tecoi. “We need people who can introduce our machines to all different shops. We have customers that are very big, but there are many other smaller customers that are not so easy to reach. To get to those customers, it’s extremely important to have a local distributor who knows all of the potential customers.

“And of course, the technical support is also critical,” he continued. “Access Machinery has trained technicians who are used to these types of machines, so that is a key element for anyone who is going to make such a sizeable investment. They want to make sure there is support when it is needed.”

“Access machinery has been serving the Canadian market for eight years,” said Irina Solovianenko, managing partner at Access Machinery. “Since the very beginning, we’ve been focused on laser cutting machines. Then we expanded to supplying press brakes. As the business has grown, we see very strong potential for these plate cutting machines, particularly in Ontario. For Access Machinery, this partnership with Tecoi is a logical step and has been smooth in its development. For customers we already work with, and others we hope to work with in the future, the Tecoi machines will integrate well with their operations and the work that we do.

“We help our customers with project coordination, installation, and technical support, which for us is more important than sales,” Solovianenko continued. “Tecoi and Access are not in the market for a quick sale, we are here to build partnerships, and our partnership with Tecoi will demonstrate our long-term goals and dedication to our customers.”
