This year's CanWeld Conference will be held at the Halifax Convention Centre from October 9-10, 2019 and will mark the 10th anniversary of the event. The CWB Group is hosting this conference, which features a line-up of renowned speakers from the welding sector, namely in Eastern Canada’s aerospace, mining, agriculture, shipbuilding and submarine industry plus oil and gas maintenance and repair.
Every year, the CWB Group brings together people from an extensive range of industry contributors such as educators, decision-makers, influencers, suppliers and consultants to implement a state-of-the-art event with the opportunity to discuss issues around current trends and advances in the welding and joining industry, health and safety plus much more.
The success from previous years will be showcased in all that CanWeld 2019 has to offer and will provide a forum for industry professionals to discuss topics of interest and what matters most in the industry.
“The annual Canweld conference is a unique opportunity for welding industry professionals to meet, interact, and learn from each other," says Jim Galloway, Professor at Conestoga College. "There is no other forum like this where our welding and fabricating industry leaders from end-users, suppliers, and academia can come together to celebrate our accomplishments and pave the path for future success."
This year's keynote address will be delivered by Mark Sansom, welding manager at Irving Shipbuilding. Sansom is a leading welding engineer who applied his vast expertise to the construction of the Royal Canadian Navy’s Arctic and Offshore Patrol ships. Before joining Irving Shipbuilding, Sansom spent ten years working in the largest naval nuclear repair yard in Western Europe, where he held several roles related to non-destructive testing, welding engineering and quality control.
