Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. has acquired Baker Industries Inc., a privately held provider of custom tooling, parts, and fixtures for the automotive and aerospace markets, based in Detroit. Baker’s in-house design and manufacturing capabilities include machining, fabricating, assembly, and additive manufacturing (AM). Its operations are AS9100D-certified and Nadcap-accredited.
The Baker organization will complement Lincoln Electric’s automation portfolio and its new metal AM service business that will launch in mid-2019. The new metal AM business will manufacture large-scale printed metal parts, prototypes, and tooling for industrial and aerospace customers.
Lincoln Electric manufactures arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment, and brazing and soldering alloys.
