Cleveland-based Lincoln Electric®, in partnership with ASM Intl., has announced the development of a certificate program called “Welding Technology and Materials Science.” The two-year program is designed to help engineers, materials science professionals, technicians, and those working in the manufacturing and industrial sectors advance their material science knowledge and obtain hands-on training with various welding technologies.
The certificate is based on completion of eight total courses, and all coursework has been previously accredited with The International Association for Continuing Education and Training. The foundational curriculum comprises five preset required courses on metallurgy, mechanical testing, welding inspection and control, welding economics, and steel weldments. The remaining three courses allow students to tailor their certificate to one of 15 industry focus areas.
Welding courses are held at ASM World Headquarters, as well as Lincoln Electric’s Welding Technology & Training Center.
