CEO of Winnipeg-based Innovair Group wins IWDC's top award

Grant Cockshott, CEO of The Innovair Group, Winnipeg, has been presented with the Bob Jackson Memorial Award at the Industrial Gas & Welding Industry's (IWDC) October 23-25 Owners' Meeting in Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Cockshott was recognized for his contributions to IWDC and surrounding province of Manitoba community.

The award is named for Bob Jackson, who played an integral part in the formation of the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC). The honor is bestowed annually on a Member who has "gone above and beyond" in their support of the organization.

The Innovair Group traces its history back to 1946, and comprises four operating companies. Welders Supplies is the largest independent distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies in Canada. Innovair Automation is a robotic welding and cutting integrator and engineering services firm. Medigas Manitoba Limited distributes medical gases and sleep apnea treatment services. Innovair Medical distributes specialized medical devices across Canada.

As CEO, Grant Cockshott is the third generation of his family to lead the business.
