RÖHM plans Oktoberfest for facility Grand Opening

RÖHM Products of America, a division of the German-based RÖHM Group, will celebrate the grand opening of its new North American manufacturing and headquarters facility in Suwanee, Georgia, on September 23 and 24. The Oktoberfest-themed event will bring in company dignitaries from overseas and include an in-depth look at the new facility, technology seminars, a private tour of the ZF Wind Power Plant, and, of course, traditional German fare.

Highlights of the new location include manufacturing potential for two product lines, expanded service for large products (e.g. chucks over 13 feet in diameter), on-site customer training and more applications engineering support capacity. The technology seminars will include discussions on RÖHM’s modular CAPTIS workpiece clamping system for turning, milling and drilling applications; DURO-NCSE power chucks with a quick-acting jaw change system; ABSIS power-operated segment mandrel with a flanged seat for internal clamping; as well as how the company’s workholding and automation technology plays into lights-out and just-in-time manufacturing. Additionally, Oktoberfest attendees will have the opportunity to tour the ZF Wind Power plant in nearby Gainesville. During the tour, attendees will see how ZF, also a German-based company, uses RÖHM products in the manufacture of its wind turbine gearboxes, some weighing as much as 16 tons. The new RÖHM Products of America facility is located at 2500 Northlake Drive in Suwanee, Georgia.
