O’Brien Installations Limited, Burlington, Ont., a manufacturer of overhead, jib, and workstation cranes and a supplier of commercial doors and loading dock equipment, has chosen Sling-Choker Manufacturing as a representative for its crane product lines.
“Sling-Choker has a long-established presence in the northern Ontario market with a strong crane field service team in many locations we would like to reach. In addition, the company offers a variety of crane accessories complementing our products and allowing them to provide end-to-end solutions,” said Wayne Davis, vice president of O’Brien.
This nonexclusive agreement allows Sling-Choker to sell O’Brien’s jib cranes, overhead cranes, METTRACK ® workstation cranes, and Street ZX and LX hoists in northern Ontario, northern Quebec, and Manitoba.
Sling-Choker, which has several locations across the country, is bestknown as a supplier of industrial and maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) products for the mining, forestry/ pulp and paper, construction, and other industrial sectors. It will sell these products under the O’Brien name and provide installation and repair services.
“The addition of the O’Brien line will allow us to speed up deliveries and increase our product offerings to help solve problems in a timely fashion for our existing customers,” explained Dan Villgren, business development manager for Sling-Choker. “This product line rounds out our crane service division and will allow us to become a one-stop shop for our existing customers and new customers that we will be targeting. We fully expect to add qualified technicians to our field service team to ensure we maintain a high level of service moving forward.”
