Renishaw Canada makes personnel announcements

Renishaw Canada, Mississauga, Ont., has promoted Philip Smith to the position of vice president of sales and marketing.

Smith joined the U.K.-based company in 1989, working in India and Hong Kong before joining the Canadian subsidiary in 2003.

The company also announced that Jayden Rodgers has been named technical support manager. Rodgers joined Renishaw Canada in 2013 as a probing application specialist and now leads the machine tool probing technical department.

“Renishaw Canada started with four people in 2003 [and] we’re now at 35 and continuing to grow,” said Smith.

The company currently has an 18,000-sq.-ft. head office in Mississauga; a 10,000-sq.-ft. facility in Ottawa; a territory manager and technical support staff in Quebec; and a worker based in Edmonton to support the western provinces.

“The Solutions Centre based in Kitchener, Ont., houses a number of Renishaw metal 3-D printing machines, and we can also offer 5-axis machining capability and component measurement in an environmentally controlled environment,” said Smith.
