Royal Bank of Canada to sponsor national skilled trade and technology competition

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is sponsoring the Skills/Compétences Canada (SCC) 2023 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNS), May 25 and 26 in Winnipeg.

In addition, RBC has also renewed as Best of Region Sponsor at SCNC Winnipeg 2023. The top scoring competitor from each province and territory will be awarded an “RBC Best of Region” award and will receive a $1,500 cash award.

“The Skills Canada National Competition represents a great opportunity to engage with our country’s future skilled workforce. We are proud to be a partner of the 2023 Skills Canada National Competition and I look forward to connecting with youth over the course of this important event,” said Mark Fell, RBC’s head of family office and strategic clients.

Approximately 10,000 students from Manitoba are expected to attend the event. In addition to watching the competitors, students will have the opportunity to participate in more than 50 Try-A-Trade and Technology activities throughout the two-day event.

“Being involved in the Skills Canada National Competition is a great way for our partners to inform youth about the great careers that are available in the skilled trades and technologies. Through our partnership with RBC, we are able to promote these rewarding careers and the importance of developing the skills needed to be successful,” said Shaun Thorson, CEO, Skills/Compétences Canada.
