At IMTS 2016, Delcam, an Autodesk company, will introduce new CAM software algorithms in its PowerMILL software to simplify 5-axis programming. The new update also digitally verifies the code for safety once it is programmed. The software verifies an entire project for machine tool issues such as collisions, rather than verifying each individual toolpath in turn.
Comprehensive verification is performed to ensure that the machine tool is capable of running the proposed strategy. It also checks for both machine tool collisions and tooling collisions during cutting moves and for all leads and links, including machine tool movements as tool changes are executed. A detailed list is then generated of any problems found so that they can be fixed on a case-by-case basis.
