Fagor Automation Corp. now offers a free CNC 8060 simulator that includes an intuitive editor that enables offline programming utilizing software tools designed to ensure trouble-free program creation, the company states.
The Interactive Editor allows users to choose the type of operation they require, and the CNC suggests a graphic example of the operation and allows for variable entry through a question-and-answer, fill-in-the-blank format.
The system’s simulator feature allows users to set up the control as if it were a specific machine tool, including parameters such as axes travels and machine dynamics. The simulator also takes into account the feeds and acceleration/deceleration of the simulated machine tool, providing machining cycle time estimates.
Upon completion, programs can be uploaded to a real CNC machine tool.
A more advanced commercial version capable of more advanced machine configurations will be available in the near future.
