Greenleaf Corp. has introduced carbide insert grade G-9610 for machining titanium.
A wear-resistant, chemically stable PVD coating helps protect the heat-resistant submicron substrate and allows for higher speeds and extended tool life in continuous cuts, the company states.
According to the company, the tools have a high resistance to built-up edge, chemical wear, abrasive wear, and the loss of hardness at high temperatures. They are best applied at higher speeds and moderate feed rates.
Inserts in this grade are available in numerous geometries and chip forms.
