Cortec offers Eco-Corr Film, a rust-preventive plastic packaging that can go back to nature after use. This commercially compostable vapor corrosion inhibitor packaging material does not pose an ecotoxicity threat to plant growth, the company reports.
Metal parts packaged in the film receive ongoing protection against salt, excessive humidity, condensation, moisture, and aggressive industrial atmospheres. These include carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass. After use, the film can be disposed in an industrial composting environment, giving it a final nonpolluting destination in the soil.
