Seco has expanded its Highfeed milling cutter lineup with the introduction of the new Highfeed 2 small-diameter and Highfeed 4 with double-sided inserts. Both families incorporate new insert designs combined with more teeth per diameter for higher productivity.
Both cutters are suitable for highvelocity, high-speed cutting of hard and tough materials, especially when performed on smaller machines equipped with high-speed/low-torque spindles.
Highfeed 2 LP05 inserts feature two cutting edges in cutter diameters as small as 12 mm. The inserts effectively machine sticky materials such as stainless steels, titanium, and superalloys, the company states.
Designed with four cutting edges, the Highfeed 4 LO06 insert is suitable for high-performance machining of common workpiece materials when using cutter body diameters from 20 to 63 mm.
Both cutters reduce vibration for smooth, stable cutting and increased productivity, the company reports.
