Walter has introduced the Thread Mill Orbital Unified National Fine (UNF) 2xD and 3xD models. The tools’ large shank diameters promote vibrationfree machining, even with a long clamping length, the company states.
The wear-resistant, tough micrograin carbide construction with TiCN coating makes these tools suitable for ISO material types P, M, K, N, S, and O.
Both the UNF 2xD and 3xD have short overhangs, making them suitable for the machining of challenging materials such as ISO S alloys, materials with high tensile strength, and materials with springback effect.
These tools also have the ability to run with a high chip load, reducing the number of passes.
