Heidenhain Corp. has now packaged the ACANTO absolute length gauge with the ND 2100G Gage-Chek metrology readout for fixed gauging applications.
The absolute length gauge eliminates gauge drift and improves linearity over the entire measuring envelope With its EnDat 2.2 technology, the device “knows” its position upon power-up, with no need to reference. The device has an accuracy of 2 µm across the entire measuring length.
It comes in both spring-operated and pneumatically operated models and is offered in 12-mm and 30-mm measuring lengths.
This package is suitable for pass/fail detection as well as complex logic statements communicating to a PLC. The gauges can be configured for basic or advanced operations because inputs can be assigned and combined as desired, along with mathematical, trigonometric, and statistical formulas. This makes it possible to measure complex dimensions such as thickness, flatness, and volume. The fast acquisition of measurement data makes it possible to monitor dynamic events, such as the eccentricity of a rotating shaft.
This device can manage up to 100 parts, each with up to 16 visible measurement features and 16 hidden features, and can save thousands of data entry points for internal statistical process control (SPC) or export.
User customization is possible with programmable soft and hot keys. Min/max functions monitor and store data, and warning and tolerance limits can be set to each display value. A color LED displays results numerically or graphically.
