Renishaw Equator 500 gauging system improves part quality, reduces scrap

Renishaw (Canada) will demonstrate the Equator™ 500 gauging system and display additive manufacturing parts and a mock-up machine of the company’s metal RenAM 500Q 3D printing system.

The larger new Equator system now enables the gauging of larger parts, with a working volume of 500 mm in diameter and up to 400 mm in height.

This system is compatible with IPC software, which allows constant monitoring and automatic adjustment of a machining operation, keeping part dimensions close to nominal and well within process control limits.

The correction of process drift improves part quality and manufacturing capability and reduces scrap. When the gauge is placed close to the CNC process, adjustments can be made at the point of manufacturing, avoiding time delays or reliance on finished part (tailgate) inspection.

It can be connected to one or multiple CNC machine tool controllers.
