5-axis HMC includes twin Z-axis drives

Heller’s FP 4000 5-axis horizontal machining centre includes twin drives in the Z axis of the machine. The machine has a work area of 800 by 800 by 1,045 mm (X/Y/Z).
The 5-axis kinematics are provided by the tool in the X, Y, C, and/or A axis, and by two axes provided by the workpiece in Z and B. The machine handles workpiece loads of up to 1,400 kg on a 500- by 630-mm pallet.
The machine, which provides 44 kW of power and 242 Nm of torque, has 10,000-RPM spindles with an HSK63 spindle taper. A 16,000-RPM, 40-kW machining head is available as an option.
The HMC is available with a 54-, 80-, 160-, 240-, or 409-place tool magazine and a Siemens 840D sl control.
