Index Corp. has introduced the new generation of its ABC machine for turning simple to moderately complex parts. It can create cycle times up to 15 per cent faster than the previous generation with rapid spindle acceleration of 8 g, shorter spindle ramp-up times, and higher rapid traverse rates.
It is suitable for parts in the 42- to 60-mm range, and up to 19 tools are available, including live tools for both turrets. Simultaneous machining with up to three tools is possible.
The machine is available in 2-, 3-, or 4-axis versions. The motorized 27-kW, 6,000-RPM spindle generates up to 95 Nm of torque.
It also ships with a Siemens S840D sl control.
