Unisig has released the B700 drop bed drilling machine for creating high-precision features on large and irregularly shaped aerospace components such as landing gear struts.
The machine also can process medium-sized, more uniformly shaped workpieces with minimal changeover.
A 1,600-mm swing-over bed size, along with the programmable moving headstock, allows the machine to process parts as long as 4,000 mm or as short as 500 mm.
It also has a preloaded drive system together with a high-horsepower, in-process feedback system for real-time monitoring. With its 126-HP tool spindle and 90-HP work spindle, the machine produces solid bores up to 200 mm dia. and counterbores to 300 mm dia.
