EOS has introduced several new metal materials for additive manufacturing on the EOS M 290, EOS M 300-4, and EOS M 400-4 systems.
In the Premium line, the new EOS ToolSteel 1.2709 is a TRL 7, ultrahigh-strength and -hardness maraging steel for demanding molding applications. It offers high fatigue strength and improved polishability.
The new EOS Aluminum AlSi10Mg is classified as Core material with TRL 3. It enables heat treatment to improve ductility. Also added to the Core line are EOS Titanium Ti64 Grade 5 and Grade 23. Both of these Ti6Al4V alloys offer high density with high strength and corrosion resistance.
EOS NickelAlloy IN718 and EOS MaragingSteel MS1 also are new Core materials. NickelAlloy IN718 is a precipitation-hardening nickel-chromium alloy with good tensile, fatigue, creep, and rupture strength at temperatures up to 1,290 degrees F, while parts built with EOS MaragingSteel MS1 offer good mechanical properties and can be posthardened to more than 50 HRC.
