Methods Machine Tools Inc. now offers the Feeler FT-250SY CNC turning center. It features a true Y axis with 3.94 in. of travel, which provides rigidity and a robust machining environment, the company reports.
The machine also offers a 20-HP, 4,500-RPM, 8-in. subspindle in addition to the primary 30-HP, 3,500-RPM, 10-in. spindle to increase capacity.
For vibration dampening when turning in hard materials, including interrupted cutting, the unit features a single-piece structure with boxways, 45-degree slant bed, and robust base. Extra rigidity from a heavy-duty, 12-station turret helps increase removal rates, improve finishes, and maintain long-term accuracy, says the manufacturer.
X-axis travel is 8.2 in. ±0.3 in.; Yaxis travel is 3.9 in. ±2 in.; and Z-axis travel is 41.3 in. The machine comes standard with a FANUC 31i-TB CNC.
