IMTS 2014 Preview: OMAX

OMAX Corporation will be at booth N-6228 at IMTS 2014

Abrasive waterjet technology and advancements in waterjet-based micromachining will take center stage in OMAX Corporation booth N-6228 at IMTS 2014 in Chicago’s McCormick Place, Sept. 8-13. Booth visitors will experience OMAX’s range of abrasive waterjet solutions and have an opportunity to discuss their manufacturing challenges with applications experts.

The 1530 JetMachining Center will be among the company’s newest machines on display, representing the next generation line of MAXIEM abrasive waterjet systems.  These all-new models offer faster cutting speeds, more cutting power, easier control software and greater accessory options for an overall increase in productivity and profitability. At IMTS, the company will pair the 1530 with an optional A-Jet multi-axis cutting head to demonstrate how easy it is to cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks. The A-Jet also compensates for taper and creates 3D complex shapes.

With its MicroMAX JetMachining Center, the abrasive waterjet cutting allows for production of parts that are smaller than 300 microns and made from a wide range of materials, including exotic metals, advanced composites, polymer thermoplastics and glass. Ideal for prototype development and production runs, the rigid MicroMAX cuts delicate, complex patterns requiring high precision.

Visitors to the company’s booth will also experience the cutting performance of the OMAX 60120 JetMachining Center with a Tilt-A-Jet cutting head accessory that achieves virtually zero taper with no reduction in cutting speed for the

precision cutting of parts with square, taper-free edges, including interlocking pieces and dovetail fittings. Ideal for a wide range of production runs across various industry segments, such as aerospace, energy and fabrication, the bridge-style machine can cut complex parts from a variety of materials, including advanced composites, exotic alloys, traditional metals and rubber.

In addition to these abrasive waterjet systems on display at IMTS 2014, OMAX Corporation will showcase its new generation Intelli-MAX Software that improves ease of use and productivity on both OMAX and MAXIEM JetMachining Centers as well as the unveiling of the latest in EnduroMAX direct-drive pump technology.

OMAX Corporation offers the broadest range of table sizes, pumps, accessories and software. Moreover, the company’s abrasive waterjet technology provides a flexible and beneficial alternative to conventional machining operations.
