Kurt Workholding's DoveLock vise is the 5 axis workholding solution manufactured from 4140 steel and not aluminum which bends, deflects and causes part creep under high speed machining pressures.
“The DoveLock is one of the most feature full 5 axis vises on the market at the lowest cost,” reports Steve Kane, global sales and marketing manager for Kurt.
DoveLock provides up to 4,000 lbs of precision clamping force, holding parts without distorting the workpiece while providing easy access to 5 sides of the workpiece. DoveLock dovetail holding feature requires only 1/8” of material height to hold the part. The dovetail feature simplifies work-piece material preparation so that no machined jaws are necessary, and can be used for a wide variety of part setups from small to large.
For fast positioning in the vise jaws, the DoveLock vise features an embedded locating pin to eliminate troublesome workpiece locating. The locating pin maintains part location and accuracy when side load pressure is applied.
Compact design of DoveLock provides for easy setup as a single module, or in groups ganged onto palettes or tombstones. To elevate parts further off the machine table, an optional riser base is available. The robust riser provides 1.250” inches of additional elevation and can be stacked in multiples to achieve the desired height.
DoveLock vise specifications are: 2.00 jaw width, maximum jaw opening 1.688 inch, jaw height 0.125 inch, overall stroke .500 inch, vise height 2.500 inch, base height 1.250 inch, base diameter 4.47 inch, weight 8 lbs.
