Okuma’s GENOS L series of horizontal CNC lathes consists of the L200, 250, 300, and 400 machines available with a 6-, 8-, or 10-in. chuck. They are built on a one-piece castiron base with a horizontal way system. The headstock and tailstock mounting surfaces are hand-scraped.
The gearless spindle minimizes vibration and heat for high speed and minimal thermal deformation, while the compact turret provides high power and high torque for a variety of cutting applications, including the optional milling function, according to the manufacturer.
These machines are equipped with the company’s open-architecture OSP-P300 control for simplified operation and peripheral connectivity. Optional capabilities and functions include Machining Navi for chatter reduction, Variable Spindle Speed Threading for simple, repeatable thread cutting, and Advanced One-Touch IGF conversational programming.
