Xerox has announced the development of 3D liquid metal technology combined with AI-based design software. According to the company, liquid metal printing can decrease production time from days to hours.
The printers use off-the-shelf alloys—the same alloys used in traditional manufacturing. Parts are denser, faster to make, and more cost-effective than those made with metal powders, the manufacturer reports.
The AI-based 3D software integrates all steps of fabrication from design to manufacturing planning and performance analysis.
