Toshiba Machine Co. America will showcase its BP-150.R22 planer-type horizontal boring and milling machine. It features a newly extended 140-in. Y axis and a 5.91-in.-dia. spindle.
A long-nose spindle head extends the spindle by 7.87 in. to allow improved access to the workpiece and ensure stable machining, even in heavy-duty applications. The new spindle also includes a spring-necked turning option that allows for composite machining of any shape along any plane. With a built-in rotary table, the machine can perform milling and boring along multiple sides of a workpiece with little or no repositioning.
Spindle speed is 5 to 8,000 RPM. A coolant-through-spindle option is available.
