Featured at IMTS 2014: Puma Multitasking Machine

Doosan will debut its third-generation multitasking machine, the Puma SMX 3100S.
This machine integrates the capabilities of a vertical machining center and horizontal turning center into one platform. It has a 90-degree vertical axis and forward-positioned ATC for improved milling capabilities as well as enhanced operator ergonomics, the company states.
It is initially available in two sizes. The Puma SMX2600 has a 10-in. chuck and 3.1-in. bar capacity, and the SMX3100 has a 12-in. chuck with 4 in. of bar capacity. Both models have the ability to machine parts up to 60 in. long and 26 in. dia. The X1-axis travel is 24.8 in., Z1-axis travel is 62.4 in., and the Y-axis travel is 11.8 in.
