SCHUNK TRIBOS polygonal clamping tech now suitable for driven tools

SCHUNK TRIBOS polygonal clamping technology can now be used for lathes and automatic revolving transfer machines with driven tools. The special polygonal toolholders with ER cone can be combined with all commercially available mountings for ER collets and with driven tools in particular.

The clamping system uses the ER taper and combines this with the precision of polygonal clamping technology. The TRIBOS mounting is simply inserted into the provided toolholder and fastened using the ER clamping nut. The tools can be preset in the mountings with an accuracy of 0.01 mm in length, and can be exchanged in the collet chuck in a few steps.

The one-piece clamping system is resistant to dirt and has a high radial rigidity. Available in two models: The slim TRIBOS-Mini ER for micro-machining, available in sizes ER 11 (clamping diameter 1 mm to 4 mm) and ER 16, ER 20, ER 25 and R 32 (clamping diameter 1 mm to 6 mm); and TRIBOS-RM ER, specializing in precise volume machining in high speed ranges, available in sizes ER 20 (clamping diameter 3 mm to 8 mm) and ER 25 and ER 32 (clamping diameter 3 mm to 12 mm).
