Third-generation VMC creates faster spindle acceleration/deceleration

AT IMTS 2016, Doosan Machine Tools America will introduce the third generation of its DNM series of vertical machining centres, which feature faster spindle acceleration and deceleration rates.
The company also upgraded the machine’s FANUC OiMF control, which provides quicker processing speed.
It has rigid roller guideways, and the new grease-based lubrication system requires refilling only every three to six months, rather than every few days.
A cyclone coolant filter eliminates the need for changing a conventional bag-type filter.
The new series comprises three machines, the DNM 4500, 5700, and 6700. Each has a direct-coupled, through-coolant spindle as standard, providing 8,000 RPM and 12,000 RPM. These spindles also contribute to the faster acc./dec. rates.
Tool storage ranges from 30 to 60 stations.
