Ugitech has introduced UGIMA® 4116N, a stainless steel made extremely hard with the addition of nitrogen. It offers more corrosion resistance than standard-grade martensitic steels such as AISI 440C and AISI 440B, says the company.
With 57 HRC when tempered, the new material has a comparable hardness value to the martensitic grades. Added sulfur content also improves machinability and produces short chipping lengths during machining.
