Beckwood Press expands engineering department

Beckwood Press Co., Fenton, Mo., a manufacturer of custom hydraulic presses, automation systems, and forming equipment, has expanded its engineering department with the addition of one structural/hydraulic engineer, four electrical/controls engineers, and one drafter.

Ian Macfayden creates detailed, annotated component and assembly drawings to expedite sourcing and lead times. He has more than 33 years of experience using CAD and 3-D modeling software to design mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems for custom machinery manufacturers. Quintin Binder serves as a designer of structural and mechanical systems. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and nearly five years of experience as a designer for a Midwest tool and die company.

Three new employees support the company’s Controls Team. Kyle Harris has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and more than 10 years of experience designing hot stamping, heat-transfer, and battery-handling equipment. Bryan Sisk, who earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, has served as a control systems engineer. Alex Wedepohl has an associate degree in applied science and extensive experience as a lead programmer with a focus on process improvement of new and retrofitted machinery used to manufacture transformer and switchgear components.

James Fingers has been hired to support the company’s Service Team, designing electrical systems hardware for existing machinery and troubleshooting in-field electrical system issues. He has an associate degree in electrical automation and controls system technologies.
