Canam lands two IKEA projects in Quebec

This week Canam-Buildings announced that it will manufacture the steel components for two projects of the Swedish giant IKEA that will open in Québec City and Beauharnois in 2018.

The Beauharnois 1,045,978-square-foot (97,175-square-meter) IKEA distribution center is Canam’s largest joists contract since its foundation in 1961, said the company. The project also includes joists, joist girders, and steel deck. A special feature of this building is the 414,437-square-foot (38,503-square-meter) roof area supported only by a pallet racking system. Deliveries are scheduled from December 2017 to March 2018.

The 241,681-square-foot (22,453-square-meter) IKEA store in Québec City also has joists, joist girders, and steel deck. Deliveries to the site began in September 2017 and will be completed in December 2017.

Canam-Buildings has supplied steel components to several IKEA stores and warehouses in the past.
