Government of Canada awards $200,000 to Saint-Eustache fabricator

Linda Lapointe, Member of Parliament for Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, recently announced that a $200,000 repayable contribution has been granted to Groupe AESP to help it increase its production capacity, upgrade its technological level and become more competitive.

The company specializes in the design and manufacture of steel structures, guardrails, stairways, metalwork and structural metal.

Five years ago, Groupe AESP decided to focus on the manufacture of custom structural metal.

Since then, the business has experienced significant growth: its sales have tripled and its workforce more than doubled. It now has to increase its production capacity to meet demand. The current project consists of acquiring specialized, fully automated equipment for the processing of steel girders.

"CED's financial support is helping us acquire the tools we need to more effectively meet the demand of our growing clientele,” said Édouard Aubé, president, Groupe AESP. “And more importantly, it is allowing us to take another step toward the vision we adopted a few years ago."

CED is one of six regional development agencies under the responsibility of Bains. For more information on CED visit www.dec-ced.gc.ca.
