Sourcing new shop floor equipment often can be a difficult task. That is one reason five Ontario-based machine tool builders and distributors host an annual joint open house. This year it took place April 20-21.

This event, which has been held annually since 2006, is sponsored by machine tool distributors and builders based in Mississauga and Oakville, Ont. The participants are DMG Mori Canada, Elliott Matsuura Canada, EMEC Machine Tools, Ferro Technique, and Single Source Technologies (SST) Canada. The event gives customers the opportunity to see the latest technology available from all five companies.

Customers that visit each of the five locations are then eligible to win prizes. This year’s Sandvik Coromant tooling certificate was won by Gord Vandermeer, owner of VDM Machining, Woodstock, Ont.
