Show floor features new technology, networking opportunity

Innovation, professionalism, and more than 3 million pounds of manufacturing equipment will set the stage for the upcoming Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS). The show brings together for attendees more than 700 suppliers that will present new technologies, practices, and industry connections.

Set for Sept. 30 to Oct. 3 at The International Centre, Mississauga, Ont., CMTS is the biggest event of its kind nationwide.

Held every two years, the expo is widely known for being the main manufacturing event in Canada.

CMTS 2019 is expecting more than 9,000 attendees and over 700 suppliers. The show provides new networking and interactive experiences for visitors, along with opportunities to attend high-level technical sessions and keynote presentations from industry experts.

Visitors will see the latest in machine tools, tooling, forming, and fabricating technologies, as well as advanced manufacturing including additive manufacturing/3D printing, automation, and robotics.

Attendees will not only be able to witness innovative manufacturing technologies, but also get a hands-on learning experience. Exhibitors will showcase advanced manufacturing such as composites, metals and advanced materials, contract manufacturing services, digital and additive manufacturing/3D printing, integrated assembly, and robotics. Visitors will also get to see the largest side-by-side comparison of live, working equipment in Canada, including machine tools, tooling, and other metalworking equipment.

The show starts with the opening keynote by Desktop Metal founder and CEO Ric Fulop on Monday, Sept. 30, at 9:00 a.m.

On Wednesday Oct. 2, at 9:00 a.m., Jean Charest will share his unique expertise to demystify current international trends. He will cover issues such as the economic trends that shape our world, international trade agreements, as well as Canada’s place and role in addressing global challenges.
