Mold making association, Canadian Metalworking magazine form strategic partnership

Canadian Metalworking magazine, a publication of FMA Communications Canada Inc. and the Canadian Association of Mold Makers (CAMM), the leading national association representing mold makers, service providers, and suppliers to the global mold making industry, are pleased to announce a strategic partnership designed to promote Canadian mold making, machining, and manufacturing.

This strategic media partnership announcement was made during the CAMM annual general meeting by Jeanine Lassaline-Berglund, president of CAMM.

“The Canadian Association of Mold Makers is thrilled to be entering into a formal relationship with Canadian Metalworking. Our members are among the current subscribers and readers of Canada’s premier publication in the space. What is most exciting will be the way the partnership unfolds and opens the world of mold making to a wider audience, allowing us to continue to showcase the innovation and leading-edge activity from the people who make things that make things,” said Lassaline-Berglund.

It’s a tricky time for the industry. Tariffs, new technology, free trade deals, and changing automotive platforms are all challenging Canadian die and mold shops, while at the same time creating potential opportunities for the sector. Part of this change is a move toward electric vehicle (EV) production, which has the possibility of adding work to the mold making pipeline.

Representing Canadian Metalworking at the virtual conference was Associate Publisher Kathleen Fitzgerald.

Canadian Metalworking’s partnership with CAMM is a great fit. This new partnership will help CAMM expand its reach into the largest metalworking audience in Canada, and it also will strengthen and broaden the magazine’s readership and editorial contribution to the mold making sector,” said Fitzgerald. “Both CAMM and Canadian Metalworking are united in their commitment to the educational sector to help ensure that manufacturing will continue to grow in strength and technology and that our youth will choose manufacturing and trades as their career path.”

With more than 25,000 subscribers, Canadian Metalworking has the highest number of subscribers in Canada’s metalcutting industries of mold making, automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, medical, and general machining.

The CAMM annual general meeting celebrates the organization’s 40th anniversary and features guest speaker Christy Michalak, Director, Advanced Manufacturing Development Programs at NGen Canada. Michalak has a background in mechanical engineering and now works to help executives enhance their businesses.
