Centennial College opens Downsview Campus for aerospace and aviation programs

Centennial College has announced the opening of its new $72-million Downsview Campus facility.

The college will be relocating its Aviation Technician programs, as well as the related aircraft and equipment from the Ashtonbee Campus Hangar in Scarborough.

The new campus will include more space for the existing programs, as well as new programs in Aerospace Manufacturing delivered by the School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science.

The four-acre campus repurposes and builds on the historic de Havilland of Canada building to create approximately 138,000 square feet of instruction space. The project includes a new hangar large enough to accommodate today's commercial jets.

The new campus is the first phase in the development of an Aerospace Hub at Downsview Park. Once completed, the facilities will be combined to created an Innovation Centre, bringing academic and industry partners together for R&D initiatives.
