Jergens names new manager of business development for Canada

Jergens has announced that Barry Schwartz will take on business development for the Canadian market to further support customers and channel partners throughout the country.

Schwartz joined Jergens in June and brings with him 40 years of metalworking experience including consulting, sales and marketing management, and broad product line distribution. The appointment comes amidst the company’s strategic moves for further developing international business.

“As we have been looking to increase our presence and support our growing customer base in Canada, we needed a top-level experienced manager, and Barry is a great fit," says Matt Schron, Jergens vice-president and general manager. “With a career-long desire to learn and be hands-on, he comes to Jergens with a ton of experience, high energy, and that unique combination of people skills and technical understanding."

Schwartz’s responsibilities include team management, customer support, and overall sales and marketing initiatives. He will continue developing his many relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and representatives. He will oversee all of Canada including increasing support to Western provinces.

“Jergens has a great team in place here," says Schwartz. “With the company’s strong reputation stateside, we will leverage that to continue to grow and support fastener, lifting, and workholding customers in Canada."

Prior to joining Jergens, Schwartz was the North American vice-president of sales and marketing for Sowa Tool and Machine. He studied business at York University, and when not working, you may find him on a mountainside or bicycle. He lives in Cambridge, Ont.
