Platinum Tooling, Prospect Heights, Ill., has added two new product offerings to its lineup. The company now imports Henninger speed increasers and REV broaching tools.
Henninger’s spindle speeders, which include mechanical-, air-, and electric motor-driven styles, are all available. Speed increasers help maximize productivity by increasing spindle RPM for certain applications. Small-diameter tools require RPMs that are sometimes impossible to reach with existing machine tool technology. In addition, the speed increasers create less wear and tear on a machine’s spindle because it is not required to run at its maximum RPM all the time.
Mechanical speeders are available with up to a 1:8 gear ratio and a maximum speed of 50,000 RPM. Air speeders can run continuously at up to 80,000 RPM. High-frequency motor spindles can maintain up to 80,000 RPM with high torque and have variable speed options.
Many of the speeders have automatic tool change capabilities and are modular in design to offer the customer greater flexibility.
REV S.R.L. is an Italian manufacturer of broaching systems for CNC lathes and machining centres.
The tools are suitable for machining simple keyways or internal and external profiles, including teeth and splines. Other common profiles including square and hexagon can be created and custom profiles are available.
The REV motorized broaching tool is designed for use on live tool lathes. Single machine setup eliminates the need for secondary operations and outsourcing.
REV static broaching tools are for use on CNC lathes with or without a Y-axis. They have a patented eccentric bushing, which eliminates alignment errors for machines without a Y-axis. They are designed for use in boring bar holders on lathes and for use in collet chucks and Weldon holders in machining centres. The tools create numerous standard and custom profiles and sizes.
