Ceratizit X7 turning grades designed to machine difficult-to-cut materials

Ceratizit has introduced the CTPX710 and the CTPX715 turning grades for difficult-to-machine materials including steel, stainless steel, super alloys and non-ferrous metals.
The turning grades have an AlTiN-based coating which is applied using Dragonskin coating technology. The microstructure of the coating has been optimized and a specialized fine grain metal used. In addition, the Dragonskin coating technology makes the surface particularly smooth, which improves chip removal and reduces adhesion, even with materials that are difficult to machine such as titanium or stainless steel.
