Iscar has introduced ChatterFree solid- carbide end mills for high-speed/ trochoidal milling and finishing operations. These multiflute end mills have different flute helix angles and variable pitch.
The geometry of the different flute helix and the variable pitch help the EC-H…CF line of tools reduce chatter during high-speed/trochoidal milling in alloyed and stainless steel and high-temperature alloys.
The new end mills are divided into two families:
- The EC-H7…CF, which features seven flutes in 6 to 20 mm diameters
- The EC-H.. CF featuring six to 20 flutes in 6 to 20 mm diameters
The EC-H7…CF seven-flute tools feature more open gullets than the 6- to 20-flute tools. Therefore, these tools can machine at radial width of cut (ae) of up to 0.1xD, while the EC-H.. CF tools can machine up to 0.06xD ae.
Both end mills are made from the company’s PVD-coated IC902 grade.
