Spectro Analytical Instruments has introduced the Spectrolab S LAS02 arc/spark OES metal analyzer for process control and research applications. It is designed to deliver fast measurements, low limits of detection, long uptime, and flexibility, the company states.
It features proprietary CMOS+T technology to identify and measure all elements in incoming, in-production, and outgoing materials, as well as in researching new materials. The analyzer is suitable for primary and secondary metal producers, automotive and aerospace manufacturers, and makers of finished and semifinished goods.
The LDMOS plasma generator and ignition board produces a stable spark and short measurement times—less than 20 seconds for low-alloy steel and less than 12 seconds for main alloying elements in materials like iron, aluminum, or copper.
