Haas UMC-1000 enables 5-axis processing

Thomas Skinner will debut the Haas UMC-1000 universal machining centre. It is suitable for shops wanting a 5-axis system for large parts.
The machine has a 25-in.-dia. platter and travels of 40 by 25 by 25 in. Fast rapids, feeds, and rotary moves machine 5-axis and 3+2 parts faster, the manufacturer reports.
It has the Haas 8100 inline drive, 40-taper spindle. For high-volume productivity, an 8-station pallet pool is available.
